Youth Programs & Services

The City of Port Jervis is committed to the success and achievements of its youth. The 1995 opening of the city's Youth & Community Center demonstrates this commitment where children and young adults are offered a wide range of youth programs, services and recreational activities.

Currently, the Center provides mentorship programs, computer clubs, after-school tutoring, youth counseling and recreational activities which keep the city's youth active and engaged in worthwhile community-based programs. One of the goals of the Center is to mitigate high school drop-out and teen pregnancy rates through effective crisis intervention provided at the earliest possible stages of a child's development.

The programs and services of the Port Jervis Youth & Community Center is a joint cooperation of the 4-H Club, Sarah Wells Girl Scout Council, DARE Program, Orange County Youth Bureau, Port Jervis School District, City of Port Jervis Youth & Recreation Commission and other community-based programs dedicated to the youth of Port Jervis.
